Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is seeking a dedicated educator to join our district. This full-time position carries a 7.5-hour day, 182 workdays per year, and a salary range based on TEA guidelines from $75,462 to $147,998, commensurate with preparation and experience.

A Washington teaching certificate and a Bachelor's degree with endorsement are required. The teacher will design engaging lessons, assess student progress, maintain records, and collaborate with staff to support student achievement within

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with appropriate educational endorsement; or any combination of experience and training providing the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.

Responsibilities

Develops, plans and strategizes a program of study meeting student needs.
Assesses student progress and maintains grades reflecting achievement.
Implements district philosophy and policies; supports behavior management and classroom rules.
Prepares differentiated lessons and communicates objectives to students.
Maintains open communication with students, parents and staff; participates in conferences.
Maintains accurate records and uses data to plan instruction; tracks student growth.
Supervises students and ensures safety and order in the learning environment.
