Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking an educator to provide specialized instruction aligned with IEPs for students with learning disabilities. The role emphasizes planning, delivering, and assessing instruction, while maintaining classroom order and collaborating with colleagues for student success.

The incumbent will communicate with parents, ensure compliance with federal/state requirements, and pursue ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Must hold or be eligible for Virginia teaching license with endorsement in applicable exceptional education area.

Responsibilities

• Plans and delivers appropriate curriculum content to students.
• Plans, teaches and assesses writing.
• Assesses students' learning and adapts instruction accordingly.
• Maintains classroom order per division guidelines on student behavior.
• Collaborates with other faculty to plan and deliver instruction.
• Communicates regularly with parents and complies with laws and policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by School Board Policy.
