Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignment.
• Certified in core content.
• ESL preferred.
• Knowledge of ARD/IEP process and goal setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs and document preparation.
• Assess student learning styles and plan appropriate strategies and materials.
• Present subject matter effectively using multiple instructional techniques and technology.
• Modify curricula for inclusion in regular classes and support in general education.
• Participate in ARD meetings and in selection of books and media.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement and development.
• Provide care and supervision per IEP and oversee extracurricular activities.
• Coordinate with district resources on education, social, medical, and personal needs.
• Maintain communication with parents and colleagues; ensure compliance with policies.
