Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher for EBD at Lincoln Education Center for the 2026-2027 school year. The role requires delivering instruction in all content areas, case management, and implementing IEP goals while adhering to state and federal regulations.

The teacher will coordinate evaluations, participate in MDTs, train families and staff, and collaborate with colleagues to support student progress and a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed to teach Special Education in Minnesota (EBD).
• Experience with due process procedures including evaluations, IEPs, progress monitoring, and meetings.
• Self-contained classroom setting in a federal IV setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct Part B evaluations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments and development of IEP goals.
• Educate parents and others regarding the provision of services.
• Provide research-based instruction as outlined in the IEP.
• Collaborate with parents, service providers and community agencies.
• Plan and provide individualized and small group activities for instruction.
• Supervise and direct classroom staff including Behavior Management Specialists and Educational Assistants.
• Monitor classroom instruction and student progress.
• Maintain classroom materials and behavior management.
