Job summary

Cave Creek Unified School District 93 is seeking a compassionate Special Education Teacher for our Alternative Programs. You will tailor instruction to students with disabilities in a non-traditional learning environment and collaborate with counselors, support staff, and families to ensure academic, social, and emotional success.

Responsibilities include implementing IEPs, adapting curriculum, managing behavior, and maintaining progress records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid AZ Special Education Certification.
• Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in an alternative education setting.
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation, including accommodations and modifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education services to students in the alternative programs, implementing IEPs and other student support plans.
• Modify and adapt the curriculum to meet diverse learning needs of students with various disabilities.
• Develop and implement behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure integration of students with disabilities in the alternative setting.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to students, families, and the IEP team.
• Participate in the development and review of IEPs, conducting assessments and evaluations as necessary.
• Offer emotional and social support to students, helping them build confidence and self-advocacy.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and growth.
• Work closely with parents to communicate progress and resources for support.
• Stay up to date with current special education laws and best practices.
