Job summary

Spokane International Academy seeks a full-time Special Education Teacher (Leave Replacement) to serve grades 7–12 from August through November 2026. You will provide SDI, manage IEPs, and collaborate with staff to support students with disabilities.

Responsibilities include data-driven instruction, progress monitoring, and coordinating with families and service providers to ensure access to rigorous academics and meaningful growth within a charter school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Washington State Special Education Teaching Certificate.
• Experience working with middle and/or high school students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) aligned with student IEPs across individual, small-group, and inclusive classroom settings.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data and student needs.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students and monitor IEPs in compliance with IDEA and state regulations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, instructional staff, and related service providers to support inclusive practices.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards.
