Position Summary
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing and delivering instructional services aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. This includes providing direct special education services, collaborating with general education teachers and service providers, and ensuring compliance with federal and state special education requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Qualifications
Valid fingerprint clearance per Texas state regulations.
Eligible for hire in Texas Public Schools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field.
Experience working in a special education setting (1+ years preferred).
Certification in CPI or TACT-2 for crisis intervention.
Knowledge of IEP management systems such as ESPED or similar.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student data management systems.
Skills:
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently throughout the school day.
Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
May require restraint training and intervention support as needed.
