Job summary

Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES invites applications for a Special Education Teacher at Chateaugay Central School District. You will provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom that promotes engagement and independence.

Qualifications

• NYS Certification in Special Education.
• Knowledge of NYS Learning and NYSAA.
• Knowledge of Curriculum, effective instructional and behavioral strategies for students with disabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the team.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications aligned to student needs.
• Create and maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and independence.
• Differentiate instruction and utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, annual reviews, reevaluations, and transition planning.
• Implement behavioral supports, intervention plans, and classroom management strategies that foster positive student behavior.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, needs, and educational programming.
• Maintain compliance with special education regulations and documentation requirements.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and ongoing training related to special education best practices.

STARTING DATE: September 1, 2026

SALARY: Competitive salary based on the collective bargaining agreement and relative experience
