Job summary

The New England Center for Children (NECC) is seeking a Lead Special Educator for the Public School Partner Program in Rockland, ME. This full-time, days position leads ABA-based instruction, develops and manages IEPs, and mentors paraeducators while collaborating with general educators, leaders and families to provide inclusive learning opportunities.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the application of the principles of ABA.
  • CPR certification completion through the agency within 6 months of employment.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills and proven leadership ability.
  • Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Salary is determined based on individual experience, and the range may not include differentials which are based on team assignment.The salary range posted reflects the starting salary for the position and does not represent the maximum potential earnings.

This full-time Lead Special Educator position offers leadership opportunities, professional growth, and access to NECC’s nationally recognized clinical and educational expertise.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead, train and supervise a classroom team using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based instruction.
  • Develop and manage IEPs and oversee individualized programming
  • Mentor and coach paraeducators
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school leaders and families to provide quality inclusion opportunities for the learners in the classroom.
  • Work closely with families and offer continuous support
