Job summary

Big Minds, Tiny Hands is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Birth–2nd Grade Certification) to provide home-based Special Instruction services to children (birth–3) with developmental delays through the Early Intervention Program in NYC.

This fee-for-service position offers flexible scheduling and competitive rates, with the opportunity to work directly with children and families in their natural environment.

Qualifications

• Certification in Special Education Birth–2nd Grade is required.
• Experience with young children (Early Intervention or preschool preferred).
• Ability to work independently in home-based settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide Special Instruction services in the child’s home or community setting.
• Implement individualized strategies based on IFSP goals.
• Support cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and adaptive development.
• Use play-based and routine-based teaching approaches.
• Coach and support caregivers to carry over strategies at home.
• Complete session notes and progress reports in a timely manner.
