Cross Country Education is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to support a local district with preschool assessments and early childhood evaluations. This full‑time W2, on‑site contract role offers consistent hours and a strong team support.
Position Overview
- Estimated Start Date: 01/13/26 (open to renew for NSY)
- Schedule: 8am-4:30pm
- Days per week: 5 days/week
- Compensation: $54 per hour (W2)
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for preschool‑aged students
- Utilize the Brigance Diagnostic Inventory of Early Development and other early childhood assessment tools
- Write detailed, compliant reports aligned with state and district expectations
- Hold and participate in IEP meetings
- Travel between district school sites and private school partners to complete evaluations (mileage reimbursed)
- Complete additional duties as assigned related to special education assessment and case management
Requirements
- Valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe)
- Autism Certification
- Prior experience assessing preschool students
- Strong skills in early childhood evaluation and report writing
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
