Extensive Support Needs Education Specialist (Moderate/Severe) - Menifee, CAThe Education Specialist, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides specialized instructional services and support to students with Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe disabilities) in a school-based setting. This position is responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and creating a supportive learning environment that promotes academic, functional, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional growth.This is a full-time contract opportunity located in the Menifee area, covering a Leave of Absence (LOA) through Winter Break, with a high likelihood of extension. Compensation starts at $65.00 per hour, depending on experience.Responsibilities:Provide specialized academic and functional instruction to students with Moderate/Severe support needs.Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal, state, and district regulations.Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.Implement evidence-based instructional strategies, behavior intervention plans, and positive behavior supports.Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and compliance documentation.Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and staff development activities.Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs.Support students in developing communication, independent living, vocational, and social skills as appropriate.Provide supervision and direction to instructional aides and classroom support staff as needed.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required; Master’s Degree preferred.Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with authorization to serve students with Extensive Support Needs (ESN) / Moderate-Severe disabilities.Current authorization to work in California schools.Previous experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred.Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and compliance requirements.Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills.Ability to implement behavior support strategies and differentiated instruction.Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.Current CPR certification if required by district assignment.TB clearance, including TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray as required.Must meet all federal, state, local, and district employment requirements.Must be at least 18 years of age.Assignment Details:Location: Menifee, CAPosition Type: Full-Time ContractSchedule: School HoursPay Rate: Starting at $65.00/hour DOEDuration: Leave of Absence coverage through Winter Break with a high likelihood of extensionBenefitsAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:Competitive pay & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings planAwards and recognition programs*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.About AmergisAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
