Job summary

Amergis seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to serve students from kindergarten through high school under the Special Education Program Administrator. You will deliver quality services, develop individualized plans, and collaborate with general education staff to plan and implement programs.

Required: Bachelor's degree, valid state teaching certificate, and at least one year of teaching experience; state certifications (Elementary/Secondary/Special Teaching) preferred; CPR/health

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.
• Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred.
• State Teacher Certification types: Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with applicable professional standards and health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, K–12.
• Participate in planning and implementation of student programs.
• Collaborate with general education staff to support student needs.
• Deliver special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation as needed.

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12.
