Job summary

Onward Education in Highland Park, IL is hiring a dedicated LBS1 Special Education Teacher to serve a self-contained elementary classroom. You will deliver instruction aligned to IEP goals and support students' academic growth and social-emotional development.

This full-year, Monday–Friday schedule runs 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, start ASAP, with collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to monitor progress and maintain compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Special Education or related field.
• Active Illinois Special Education teaching license (LBS1) required.
• Experience with elementary students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support to students with disabilities in accordance with IEPs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications in collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, and families.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to track student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation and participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress reviews.
• Support positive behavior interventions and create a structured learning environment.
