TX-STAR Speech Language Services collaborates with school districts across Texas to provide individualized educational support for students with a broad range of learning needs. We are currently seeking Certified Special Education Teachers for school-based opportunities in El Paso and surrounding communities.
These positions are a strong fit for educators who believe in inclusive learning and want to help students achieve meaningful academic, social, and personal growth through specialized instruction.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Special Education Teacher, you will develop and deliver individualized instruction while partnering with campus teams and families to address each student’s unique educational needs.
In this role, you will:
- Create, implement, and oversee Individualized Education Programs in accordance with student needs and required timelines
- Deliver specialized instruction based on students’ abilities, learning profiles, and academic goals
- Adjust curriculum, assignments, instructional materials, and teaching methods to improve access and engagement
- Use assessment results, classroom observations, and progress data to inform instructional decisions
- Revise lessons, interventions, and supports according to student performance and changing needs
- Encourage students’ academic achievement, social development, emotional growth, and independence
- Integrate assistive technology, visual supports, and other instructional resources when appropriate
- Work closely with general education teachers, related-service providers, campus personnel, and families
- Participate in ARD and IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of measurable goals
- Maintain accurate progress reports, service records, and required special education documentation
Qualifications for This Position
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Current and valid Texas Special Education teaching certification
- Strong knowledge of IEP procedures, differentiated instruction, and school-based special education practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Master’s degree is preferred
- Previous experience working in a school-based special education setting is a plus
