Job summary

TX-STAR Speech Language Services is seeking Speech-Language Pathologists for school-based roles in Houston and surrounding communities. You will assess communication needs and deliver individualized services to support students’ academic, social, and functional development.

As a school-based SLP, you will conduct evaluations, develop therapy plans aligned to IEPs, and provide direct services in small groups and individually.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field required.
  • Current Texas SLP license required.
  • CCC-SSP preferred.
  • Pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assess communication needs and deliver individualized services to support students’ academic and social development.
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations using appropriate assessment tools.
  • Develop and implement therapy plans aligned to IEP goals.
  • Provide direct services in individual and small groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in ARD and IEP meetings and share findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain documentation and progress notes within timelines.

TX-STAR Speech Language Services partners with school districts across Texas to connect students with specialized speech and language support. We are currently seeking Speech-Language Pathologists for school-based opportunities in Houston and surrounding communities.

These positions are ideal for clinicians who are dedicated to improving student communication, strengthening classroom participation, and helping children access their educational programs more successfully.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you will assess communication needs and deliver individualized services that support students' academic, social, and functional development.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations using appropriate assessment tools and procedures

  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and communication goals connected to students' Individualized Education Programs

  • Provide direct therapy services in individual and small-group settings

  • Address communication needs involving articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, social communication, and related areas

  • Collect and analyze progress data to guide clinical decisions and update intervention strategies

  • Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and multidisciplinary team members

  • Participate in ARD and IEP meetings and share evaluation findings, progress updates, and clinical recommendations

  • Complete service logs, evaluation reports, progress notes, and other required documentation accurately and within established timelines

  • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices, district procedures, and special education requirements

Qualifications for This Position
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field

  • Current and active Texas Speech-Language Pathology license

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology preferred

  • Clinical Fellows are encouraged to apply, with supervision available

  • Strong understanding of IEP procedures, special education services, and school-based clinical practices

  • Effective written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Previous pediatric or school-based experience is preferred

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus
