Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate per district regulations.
• Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• CPR certification current if applicable.
• TB questionnaire/PPD or chest X-ray if applicable.
• Current health certificate required per contract/state regulations.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• The Special Education Teacher provides quality services to K-12 students with disabilities.
• Collaborates with the Special Education Program Administrator and general education staff on planning and implementing student programs.
• Delivers specialized instruction and provides tutorial assistance as needed.
• Consults with general education staff to support inclusion and student progress.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has acommitment to team participation in planning and implementation of studentprograms including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultationwith general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited universitypreferred

• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state,contract/district regulations

• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environmentpreferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard ElementaryTeaching preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard SecondaryTeaching preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teachingpreferred
