Job summary

Amergis, formerly Maxim Healthcare Staffing, is seeking a Special Education Teacher in Winston-Salem, NC. The role is contract - full time, paying $46 per hour, with 37.50 hours per week in a school setting.

The teacher will provide quality services to special education students from kindergarten through 12th grade, collaborating with program administrators and general education staff to plan and implement individualized student programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment (preferred).
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, from K to 12.
• Participate in planning and implementation of student programs.
• Include special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
