Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher in North Charleston, SC, to deliver services from kindergarten through 12th grade under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator.

The role emphasizes teamwork in planning and implementing student programs, including instruction, tutorials, and collaboration with general education staff. A Bachelor’s degree and applicable certifications are required, with LBS1 endorsement preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations.
• Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).
• State Teacher Certification types as listed above.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has acommitment to team participation in planning and implementation of studentprograms including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultationwith general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited universitypreferred
