Shore Staffing, Inc. is seeking full-time Special Education Teachers to join our team in Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia.

The role focuses on delivering quality education for all students with diverse needs, maintaining professional standards and strong classroom management. Responsibilities include lesson planning, utilizing varied instructional resources, assessing progress, and collaborating with parents and staff to support IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited institution is required.
• Eligible for Maryland Teaching Certificate with endorsement in special education is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual needs-based daily lesson planning to support students.
• Create a conducive classroom environment and manage time effectively.
• Use diverse instructional resources and techniques to implement curriculum.
• Evaluate student progress and support intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Follow school board policies and procedures to support school goals.
• Assist administration in fulfilling the school's mission.
• Maintain professional competence and supervise students in school settings.
• Maintain records and monitor compliance with state and local requirements.
• Understand assessment instruments and communicate evaluation summaries.

We are currently seeking full-time Special Education Teachers to join our team!

Requirements:

The role of the special education teacher is to teach quality learning for all students. Teachers are responsible for practices and behaviors, which demonstrate necessary teaching competencies, effective classroom management, positive personal qualities, and responsibility for other institutional matters. Teachers will teach subject matter and skills that contribute to the development of all students in becoming knowledgeable, mature, and responsible citizens.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.

• Eligible for a Maryland Teaching Certificate that is age/grade appropriate with endorsement in special education.

Duties:

• Provide for individual needs and interests of students with the aid of appropriate and effective daily lesson planning.

• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and where classroom time is utilized effectively.

• Demonstrate the use of a variety of teaching techniques and the use of a variety of instructional resources and materials to implement approved curriculum.

• Use evaluation effectively to promote student growth and development intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.

• Demonstrate effective communication skills and positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, staff, and community.

• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of school system goals and objectives by following school board policies and administrative procedures.

• Assist administration and other staff members in reaching the mission for the school by applying ethical standards in professional relationships.

• Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.

• Supervise students in a variety of school settings.

• Maintain appropriate records and monitor compliance with state and local requirements.

• Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

• Understand the uses and limitations of assessment instruments.

• Communicate evaluation summaries in written and verbal form.

• Elicit parent and staff participation in development of the Individualized Education Program (IEP).

• Participate in the IEP Team process.
