Job summary

Saint Paul Public Schools is seeking a Teaching Assistant 2 - Special Education for Washington Tech Middle School in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This 10-month position supports students with IEPs, 504 plans, and behavior plans under supervision.

The TA2 works to include students with disabilities in general education settings, records data on IEP objectives, and assists with daily living tasks and field trips. Training in NVCI and bus safety may be required.

Qualifications

• AA/AS/AAS degree or higher
• Two years of post-secondary coursework (60 credits/90 quarters) toward bachelor
• Passing ParaPro or Paraeducator AND HS diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEP, 504, BIP and sensory plans.
• Support inclusion of students with disabilities in general education classrooms.
• Record data on IEP objectives and BIPs for monitoring progress.
• Assist students with functional skills and daily living activities.
• Move around classrooms and school to meet student needs.
• Assist with field trips and related activities.
• Follow behavior interventions and de-escalation strategies.
• Bus/physical safety duties may be required.
