Job summary

Saint Paul Public Schools is seeking a temporary Teaching Assistant 2 - Special Education for Farnsworth Aerospace Upper School. The role supports students with disabilities, implements IEP/504/BIP plans, and assists in inclusive classrooms.

Responsibilities include data collection on IEP objectives, assisting with functional skills, and supporting safety and behavior interventions. Must complete required trainings and maintain reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills are required.
• Ability to work with students with diverse needs per IEP.
• Must pass ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment or have HS diploma/ GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEP, 504, BIP, and sensory plans.
• Support inclusion of students with disabilities in general education.
• Record data on IEP objectives and BIPs.
• Assist students with functional skills and self-help tasks.
• Support teachers in working with individual students across environments.
• Move around classrooms and school as needed.
• Complete Third-Party billing daily.
• Follow up on Positive Behavioral Interventions and implement de-escalation strategies.
• Be trained in NVCI for safety when needed.
