Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, seeks an assistant teacher to support K-12 students with special needs.

You will work with small groups, assist the teacher, and use SESI’s behavioral framework to promote learning and safety in diverse classrooms. Responsibilities include data-driven progress tracking, collaboration with teachers and service providers, and ensuring student supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• College experience or bachelor's degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group instruction as you implement the SESI academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher in providing customized behavior and academic support and conducting assessments.
• Reinforce learning of materials through tasks, using data to determine appropriate materials, and completing tutorials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading work, and guiding independent study or enrichment activities.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies and implement de-escalation techniques when needed.
• Supervise students and ensure they are monitored at all times and when moving between locations.
