Sun Prairie Area School District is seeking a Support Staff - Special Education Assistant to join Eastside Elementary. The role supports teachers in providing inclusive education for students with disabilities within the classroom and other settings.

The position is full-time (7 hours/day, 7:25 am - 2:55 pm) during the school year with benefits and paid time off. Starting wage is $21.85 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with technical training in special education.
• DPI certification required.
• CPR, first aid and non-violent crisis intervention certifications.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsabilités

• Maintains a safe learning atmosphere for students to enable them to meet or surpass their capabilities.
• Supports and facilitates all IEP/504 goals/plans and collects related data.
• Leads small groups and one-on-one instruction under teacher guidance.
• Facilitates student accommodations on assignments and tests.
• Provides student supervision across all educational environments.
• Follows directives from the special education contact teacher and makes independent decisions as needed.
• Prepares and maintains notes and materials for substitutes when absent.
• Provides basic first aid and maintains injury logs; completes required trainings.
• Assists with health procedures after training (e.g., catheterization, tube feedings, etc.).
• Follows district policies including Technology Use Policy.
