Job summary

The Sun Prairie Area School District is seeking a dedicated assistant to support teachers in meeting the needs of students with disabilities within the educational environment. The role is full-time, 7 hours per day, 7:25 am to 2:55 pm, Monday through Friday, for the 2026-27 school year, with paid time off and benefits eligible.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe learning atmosphere, assisting with IEP/504 goals, leading small groups, providing classroom accommodations, and documenting

Qualifications

• High school graduate with technical training in special education, or equivalent experience.
• DPI certification provided by employee.
• CPR, non-violent crisis intervention, and first aid certification.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in meeting the needs of students with disabilities in the educational environment.
• Maintain a safe learning atmosphere and support IEP/504 goals with data collection.
• Lead small groups and one-on-one instruction under supervision.
• Provide student supervision across educational environments and assist with accommodations.
• Prepare notes and materials for substitutes; ensure safety and proper training.0
• Follow district policies, including Technology Use Policy, throughout the workday.

Education
