Job summary

The Sun Prairie Area School District is seeking a dedicated aide to assist teachers in meeting the needs of students with disabilities within the educational environment.

Full time, Monday–Friday, 7 hours per day during the school year; starting wage: $21.85 per hour. The role supports IEP/504 goals, leads small groups, and facilitates accommodations while supervising students and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with technical training in special education or equivalent knowledge.
• DPI certification provided by employee.
• CPR, non-violent crisis intervention and first aid certifications.
• NCLB standards demonstrated via college study or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe learning atmosphere and assist students to meet goals.
• Support IEP/504 goals and collect related data.
• Facilitate inclusion and promote acceptance among students and staff.
• Lead small groups and one-on-one instruction under teacher guidance.
• Assist with accommodations on assignments and tests.
• Provide student supervision across educational environments.
• Prepare substitute plans and maintain detailed notes and materials.
• Provide basic first aid and maintain related logs; complete required trainings.
• Assist with self-care tasks and health procedures after training.
• Follow district policies including Technology Use Policy during workday.

Education

High school graduate with technical training in special education

DPI certification provided by employee

Two years of higher education or equivalent ability

Valid driver's license
