Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant: Special Education to support classroom instruction and student supervision. You will assist with IEP goals, implement instructional plans, and observe student progress within assigned schools.

The role includes gathering data, preparing instructional materials, and providing for health care needs and personal care tasks as directed by health professionals and the IEP team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated patience and ability to work with students with disabilities.
• Willingness to learn and implement instructional methods and strategies.
• Ability to meet IEP goals and district benchmarks.
• Ability to present and reinforce learning concepts.
• Proficiency with business software (Video/Web Conferencing, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Adapt activities and materials under teacher direction to support objectives.
• Assist in instruction and provide individual and group activities.
• Participate in IEP goal implementation and behavioral plans.
• Perform clerical tasks to prepare instructional materials.
• Maintain data collection and documentation of activities and assistance.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required.
• Assist with medical/behavioral tasks and student mobility needs.
• Support students with accessing assistive technology and devices.
