Job summary

Lane Education Service District seeks a licensed Teacher, At-Large to provide short and long term substitute support in Life Skills Education, Emotional/Behavior Disorder, and At-Risk Youth programs across multiple sites in Lane County. The role requires a valid Oregon SPED license or ability to obtain one and entails regular communication with families and staff.

The position follows the district salary schedule, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid leaves/holidays, and PERS.

Qualifications

• Valid Oregon Special Education license or the ability to obtain one is required.
• Knowledge of federal and state special education requirements and best practices is essential.
• Experience in behaviorally focused special education programs is required.
• Experience serving students with cognitive disabilities or EBD is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication with students, families, and staff; confidentiality is required.

Responsibilities

• Establish measurable instructional goals.
• Plan and present coherent instruction tailored to each student.
• Create a respectful classroom environment and manage behavior fairly.
• Implement behavior support plans as needed.
• Regularly assess student performance and maintain records.
• Communicate with students, families, and team members about progress.
• Coordinate programs with external agencies as needed.
• Provide short-term substitute support for Life Skills, EBD, and At-Risk Youth classrooms.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
