Job summary

Lane Education Service District is seeking a Teacher, At-Large for the Life Skills Education Program in Oregon. 1.0 FTE position with benefits including medical, dental, vision, leave and retirement (PERS) as described in the collective bargaining agreement.

Salary will be placed per the current schedule at hire. The role requires a valid Oregon special education license or eligibility, knowledge of SPED requirements, and experience with behaviorally focused programming.

Qualifications

• A valid Oregon TEPSC special education license or ability to obtain is required.
• Knowledge of federal/state special education requirements and best practices.
• Experience in behaviorally focused special education programs preferred.
• Experience serving students with cognitive disabilities, EBD, or adjudicated youth preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families and staff and maintain confidentiality.
• First Aid/CPR card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish measurable instructional goals.
• Plan and present coherent instruction for diverse learning needs.
• Create respectful, conducive classroom environment and manage behavior.
• Implement individual behavior support plans as needed.
• Frequently assess student performance and keep records.
• Communicate with students, families and team regarding progress.
• Coordinate with external agencies as needed.
• Provide substitute support for Life Skills and related classrooms per plan.
• Attend staff meetings and be a cooperative team member.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
