Job summary

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking a Substitute Teacher for the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled program. The role involves designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities using the MSSD curriculum.

You will analyze learning styles, select appropriate activities, coordinate behavioral and communication supports, and participate in IEP team meetings while maintaining a safe, confidential educational

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to receive a Missouri Substitute Teacher’s Certificate by documenting a minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
• Missouri Teaching Certificate or professional license per state requirements.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications are required per MSSD guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities using MSSD curriculum.
• Analyze learning style and adapt teaching strategies to meet student needs.
• Conduct IEP team and special education meetings.
• Coordinate behavioral support/intervention plans for students with challenging behaviors.
• Maintain a safe, confidential environment and follow MSSD policies.
