The Learning Lamp is seeking a part-time substitute teacher to support classrooms based on school district schedules in Somerset County, PA. You will implement lesson plans, maintain a positive classroom, and adapt to various teaching assignments while ensuring student safety and engagement.

Applicants should hold an active PA Special Education teaching certificate or equivalent, complete necessary clearances, and communicate effectively with staff and students.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Special Education (K-12 welcome).
• Willingness to pass required clearances and training for child safety.
• Ability to quickly establish rapport with students and adapt to different classroom settings.
• Strong classroom management skills for diverse learning environments.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with staff, students, and administrators.
• Familiarity with school policies and procedures; ability to follow them.
• Flexibility and adaptability to different teaching assignments and grade levels.
• Completed background check and clearance; able to work in a school setting.
• Capability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move for long periods during the day.

• Flexibility: adjust to different grade levels and school environments as needed.
• Classroom Materials: use provided materials and leave the space organized for the returning teacher.
