Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education seeks a Substitute Teacher (Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled) to design and implement IEP-based instruction for students with disabilities under the MSSD program.

The role requires a Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate or a Missouri Teaching Certificate, with maintaining CPR/AED/First Aid certificates. Compensation includes a state salary range and benefits package.

Qualifications

Eligible to be issued a Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate by documenting a minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
Missouri Teaching Certificate also qualifies for the position.
A professional license under state law may be required or accepted.

Responsibilities

Design and implement individualized education programs for students with disabilities using MSSD curriculum.
Analyze learning styles and adapt teaching strategies to meet student needs.
Select age-appropriate, functional activities and materials for teaching.
Conduct IEP team and special education meetings.
Coordinate behavioral support and communication plans for students.
Develop and follow an efficient daily schedule for IEPs.
Follow health care procedures as specified for each student.
Maintain a safe, confidential environment for students and staff.
Carry out daily self-care needs of students as required.
Maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications as specified.
