Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks a Special Education Co-Teacher to support students with significant cognitive and developmental disabilities. The role emphasizes a functional curriculum, daily living and vocational skills, and inclusive activities with typical peers.

1:3 ratio in K-5 to 6-12 settings may apply. The position offers compensation hourly between $17.73 and $25.59, with paid 12-month distribution, and benefits such as family leave, tuition reimbursement, and mental health support.

Qualifications

• At least 48 college hours required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with cognitive and/or pervasive developmental disabilities strongly preferred.
• Willingness to pursue Special Education teaching certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under guidance.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans and monitor progress.
• Support individual students inside and outside the classroom to participate in activities.
