Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a Special Education Resource Teacher (LD and/or Multi-Cat Certified) for Maryville Elementary and Sampit Elementary. The role supports students with learning disabilities and multi-categorical needs, collaborating with general and special education staff to implement IEPs across campuses.

The position requires SC Certification, a degree in a relevant field, and a background in creating individualized instruction plans within a 190-day school year.

Qualifications

• SC Teacher Certification in appropriate area.
• Degree(s) required and area of major study from an accredited college/university.
• Prior job experience preferred.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be found appropriate and acceptable by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning for the student’s maturity and interests.
• Develops lesson plans and organizes daily classes to cover curriculum within allotted time.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Uses varied instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Serves as a role model for students and communicates with parents on pupil progress.
• Participates in curriculum development and works with classroom teachers as needed.
