Job summary

Sylvania in Illinois is seeking an Learning, Behavior and Intervention Specialist (LBS1) to provide differentiated instruction and assessments within a 10-month school year. The role reports to the Principal/Pupil Services Administrator and works as part of the Building/Pupil Services team.

The ideal candidate holds an LBS1 Endorsement and an Illinois Professional Educator License or equivalent, with a collaborative mindset and ability to implement effective instructional strategies to support

Qualifications

• LBS1 Endorsement required.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Provide differentiated instruction with a variety of assessments in an environment conducive to learning

QUALIFICATIONS:

• This position requires an LBS1 Endorsement
• A completed/submitted online application, resumé, and letters of recommendation as required on the online application
• Ability to work as a team member
• Applicants must hold valid Illinois Professional Educator License or other License as required
• Past experience teaching the specific class will be considered first; recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will also be considered
• The ability to speak a foreign language is preferred

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO PUPIL SERVICES

1. Serve as a specialist to the education team and as a member of the Pupil Services team
2. Plan and supervise assignments for Program Assistants working with all students
3. Prepare an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for students at least annually
4. Maintain accurate documentation adhering to the dates and timelines set forth by Federal and State governments, and Community Consolidated School District 46
5. Collect continuous data reflecting growth tied to the students’ needs for support and/or the IEP goal
6. Share in school-related duties as assigned by the building Principal
