Qualifications

• Working knowledge of federal and state laws related to the education of students with special needs.
• Working knowledge of the Arizona State Standards for the assigned grade level and/or subject area and ability to evaluate alignment to instruction and district curriculum.
• Working knowledge of Arizona state-approved assessments for the assigned grade level and/or subject area.
• Working knowledge of and ability to effectively use and integrate technology in the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Designs the IEP for each student in accordance with district, state and federal requirements.
• Coordinates instructional interventions and plans for students with disabilities.
• Collaborates with colleagues to plan benchmark lessons and identify appropriate resources.
• Acts as case manager for assigned special needs students.
• Maintains required IEPs, evaluation records, and related documentation.
• Plans and implements self-care programs as needed for students.
