Responsibilities

• Assists in identification and evaluation of students needing special education programs.
• Administers, transfers, and interprets diagnostic data.
• Maintains standards of pupil behavior for a functional learning atmosphere.
• Adapts curriculum with individual plans and instructional materials.
• Evaluates student progress and prepares reports.
• Maintains inventory of materials and supplies.
• Participates in district in-service education programs.
• Communicates with staff, students, parents, and administration.
• Supervises students during and outside class activities.
• Keeps current with special education knowledge and professional development.
• Reads professional literature relevant to special education.
