Job summary

Sd 308 is seeking a Special Education Resource teacher for a 0.50 FTE position at Old Post Elementary School. The role involves providing direct services to students with disabilities, collaborating on IEPs, and coordinating MTSS prereferral supports.

Qualified candidates hold an Illinois PEL with LBS I endorsement and have recent SPED teaching experience, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills to manage a caseload and partner with families and staff.

Qualifications

• A valid/registered Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS I endorsement.
• Recent special education teaching experience (except new graduates).
• Knowledge of current teaching techniques for students with disabilities.
• Ability to write and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services to students with disabilities aged 3-21.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff on IEPs and programming.
• Manage a caseload of students with disabilities.
• Conduct evaluations, write reports, and provide program recommendations.
• Re-evaluate students as recommended by the IEP team.
• Monitor progress and communicate with families and staff.
• Participate in MTSS and district committees as needed.
• Maintain data on student performance and outcomes.
