Job summary

Point Quest Group is seeking a Special Education Resource Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in Kansas City, MO. This full-time position requires a valid Special Education license and involves leading a classroom, developing IEPs, PBIS implementation, and collaboration with families and staff.

You will supervise paraprofessionals, coordinate with related service providers, and participate in IEP meetings while maintaining compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Current Department of Education Professional Educator's License with Special Education endorsement.
• Criminal and DCS background checks.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans with accommodations aligned to IEP goals and state standards.
• Adapt general education curriculum to meet individual student needs.
• Implement and manage classroom PBIS program, including behavior tracking and parent communication.
• Supervise and direct paraprofessionals assigned to your classroom.
• Attend and lead IEP meetings; write updates and maintain compliant documentation.
• Conduct assessments and track student progress toward IEP goals.
• Collaborate with related service providers, families, and outside agencies.
• Support implementation of assistive technology and augmentative communication devices.
• Overseeing and mentoring Instructional Assistants or Paraprofessionals who provide direct support to students.
