Job summary

Family of Kidz in Nassau County, NY is seeking a Special Educator Resource Room to support students with IEP goals during the school day. You will provide direct, small-group instruction and adapt plans to meet diverse needs.

The role offers part-time hours during school days, with potential for full-time or fee-for-service, and compensation around $60 per hour. Follows the school calendar and requires NYS SWD certification.

Qualifications

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification required or preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a setting supporting children and families preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans for student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
• Review, understand, and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
• Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs, accommodations, and classroom strategies.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
