Avon Community School Corporation’s Hickory Elementary is seeking a Student Support/Instructional Assistant to assist the classroom or resource teacher in achieving student learning objectives per IEP. You will work with individual students or small groups to reinforce skills and support classroom management, while implementing student-specific behavior plans and health care needs.

This is a full-time role (35 hours/week) with a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00am–2:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Advanced work in special education preferred.
• Ability to relate well and communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and volunteers.
• Experience in a classroom setting preferred.

Responsabilités

• Maintains schedule as developed by supervising teacher.
• Works with individual or small groups of students to reinforce learning.
• Guides independent study, enrichment, and intervention activities.
• Alerts the classroom teacher to any problem or information about a student.
• Assists with lunch, snack, and cleanup routines as needed.
• Maintains records and collects data as directed by the teacher.
