Qualifications

• Master's degree in special education, educational leadership, school administration, or closely related field.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate or other professional credential with special education endorsement.
• Michigan administrator certification or eligibility to obtain credentials within district timeline.
• At least five years of successful professional experience in special education, including IEP development and implementation.
• Knowledge of federal and Michigan special education law, evaluation and eligibility practices, and due process requirements.
• Ability to analyze data, lead adults, manage complex projects, and communicate with families.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of special education programs district-wide.
• Serve as liaison to the Calhoun Intermediate School District for special education matters.
• Set district expectations for inclusive practices and specially designed instruction.
• Monitor data on outcomes, service provision, and compliance to drive improvements.
• Develop annual priorities, plans, and progress reports aligned with district goals.
• Advise leaders on staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and service delivery.
