Job summary

Teton County School District #1 seeks a Special Education Permanent Support Specialist to provide classroom coverage for diverse age groups when teachers are absent.

The role focuses on delivering specially designed instruction aligned with each student’s IEP, collaborating with general and special education staff, and maintaining clear communication with families while adapting quickly to changes in schedules.

Qualifications

• Provide specially designed instruction aligned with students' IEPs across general education, resource, and self-contained settings.
• Assist in planning and implementing classroom accommodations and specially designed instruction.
• Differentiate instruction and integrate learning for students with disabilities.
• Know and apply IDEA and Wyoming rules governing special education programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage as assigned when special education teachers are absent.
• Proctor virtual student therapy sessions and/or evaluations as assigned.
• Communicate with teachers, parents, and administrators about planning, assessment, and progress.
• Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, and conferences.
• Assist in developing curricular materials and participating in school events.
• Support discipline, routines, and positive behavior management.
