Job summary

The Teton County School District #1 in Jackson, WY seeks a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities and assist teachers in both inclusion and specialized programs.

You will work 8 hours per day over 177 working days, with duties including instructional support, progress monitoring, and record keeping while maintaining student confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Spanish skills preferred
• Combination of education and experience suitable for the position

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups under the direction of a teacher
• Use instructional and classroom management strategies to engage students
• Assist with progress monitoring tasks and record keeping
• Assist with lifting and moving of students with physical disabilities as appropriate
• Assist students in accessing the general education curriculum and program
• Provide accommodations/modifications as specified in each student's IEP
• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and field trips
• Maintain student confidentiality as required by law
