Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District seeks a Special Education Teacher Assistant for the TOPS program, serving students ages 18–21. You will support instructional activities and classroom routines under the direction of the Director of Special Education.

Responsibilities include assisting with records, preparing materials, supervising students in job-related settings, and participating in professional growth. This non-exempt paraprofessional role involves 188 days of work.

Qualifications

• Must have 48 college hours or an equivalent diploma and pass a district assessment.
• Educational Aide Certification is required.
• Texas CDL to transport students is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out the instructional program under supervision of teaching personnel.
• Maintain student records and assist with data entry as needed.
• Prepare, use and maintain job training materials and equipment.
• Assist with teacher-planned activities, exercises and drills.
• Follow teacher instruction and guidance.
• Maintain student records and supervise grooming activities.
• Supervise students in job-related settings.
• Participate in planned in-service and professional growth activities.

Education

Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment

Educational Aide Certification

Texas Commercial Driver License (CDL) preferred
