Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 semester hours/90 quarter hours from an accredited school
• Passing score on the Georgia paraprofessional assessment
• Experience working with students who display ASD and/or developmental delays

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance and adheres to established work schedules
• Assists with classroom management and data collections, including collections for student information and state database counts
• Provides one-on-one support for individual students as required
• Teaches or assists students in developing social/emotional skills and related therapies under supervision
• Prepares learning materials to meet individual learning styles
• Assists in assessment and instruction for students with disabilities and documents progress
• Works on individual goals and objectives as determined by IEPs
• Corrects class work and reports areas of strength/weakness
• Collaborates in co-teaching classrooms with instructional supports
• Supervises students on field trips and off-campus sites as needed
• Maintains confidentiality of student information
• Serves on school committees and assists with school functions
• Supports services for at-risk students in alternative education settings
• Assists with basic needs if assigned
• Collaborates with counselors and staff in planning Behavioral plans
• Submits reports and data to administrators
• Supports employment plan development
• Performs other duties as assigned by Principal/Director of Special Education
