Job summary

Cranbury Township School District is seeking a Teacher Assistant for Cranbury School. This support staff role assists in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with special needs and supports certified staff in implementing IEP goals.

Responsibilities include enforcing classroom rules, reinforcing routines, assisting with testing and assignments, and maintaining records under state and district policies. A NJ substitute or teaching certification and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; college-level coursework in education or related field.
• Experience with behavior management preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and development and appropriate classroom practices.

Responsibilities

• Enforce school and classroom rules to maintain a respectful, responsible, and ready learning environment.
• Assist in reinforcing self-help skills and support instructional activities under supervision.
• Assist in administering tests and assignments to support student needs and IEP objectives.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as required.
• Maintain records as required by law and district policy.
• Provide instruction and support in individual and small group activities to reinforce objectives.
