Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment, required.
• Or Associate degree or higher from a Georgia PSC approved accredited college or university.
• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses with GPA 2.0 or higher from a Georgia PSC approved college or university.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with physical needs including feeding, toileting, lifting, and mobility.
• Assists students with health care procedures including hygiene and medications as needed for daily care.
• Provides small groups and/or individualized instruction to students, following lesson plans.
• Monitors students before and after school and during non-instructional periods.
• Assists teachers with classroom management to support a conducive learning environment.
• Assists teachers with assessment and recordkeeping of student performance.
• Develops and organizes instructional materials for use in instructional segments.
