Lexington County School District One Pelion Elementary School in Pelion, South Carolina is seeking an Instructional Assistant, Special Education to provide academic, emotional and physical support to students with disabilities under IDEA.

Requirements include 60 college credit hours, an associate degree or higher, or a passing score on the ParaPro or ParaPathways assessment. This is a full-time, 8-hour/185-day position reporting to the Principal and working with a certified teacher.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.
At least two years of study (60 semester hours) at an accredited institution of higher education; or
An associate's degree (or higher); or
A passing score on the ParaPro or ParaPathways Assessment.

Responsibilities

Supports students with disabilities under IDEA and assists teacher with daily classroom activities.
Maintains a safe, supportive, and orderly learning environment.
Provides academic, emotional, and physical support to individual students or small groups.
Assists with classroom materials preparation and distribution.
Assists with health-related activities and daily living routines as needed.
Participates in professional meetings and training sessions.
