Job summary

Lexington County School District One seeks an Instructional Assistant, Special Education at White Knoll High School to support students with disabilities under IDEA and assist certified teachers with academic and classroom activities.

Under supervision, you will help with speech activities, health-related student support, and daily living tasks while maintaining confidentiality and safety. High school diploma or equivalent and 60 college credits or an associate degree/ParaPro score are required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least two years of study (60 semester hours) at an accredited institution of higher education; or
• An associate's degree (or higher); or
• A passing score on the ParaPro or ParaPathways Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher with primary academic instruction and classroom activities; prepares and disseminates materials for classroom activities.
• Assists with physical health programs for students including activities like physical therapy and assisting students with exercise.
• Assists with daily living routines and personal care as needed.
